Danny Elfman bringing 'Nightmare Earlier than Christmas' to Hollywood Bowl for Halloween
This is a treat for our Los Angles locals.
"Composer Danny Elfman is throwing A Nightmare Before Christmas orchestral event at the Hollywood Bowl on Halloween—and the venue will be transformed into Halloween Town.
Elfman, who you might also remember being the lead singer of Oingo Boingo, will be singing the part of beloved Jack Skellington, a role he voiced in the 1993 animated film, the L.A. Times reports. The songs he composed for the movie will be performed by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and with the former conductor, John Mauceri, leading alongside the movie. There are some promised surprise guest singers, though no names have been announced yet.
It sounds like it's going to be completely Halloween-themed, as guests are encouraged to dress up in costumes (for a contest!), and the Bowl will be decorated to resemble the fictional Halloween Town where the movie is set. We're hoping that means it will be like Disneyland's Haunted Mansion on steroids.
The event takes place on October 31 at 8:15 p.m. at the Hollywood Bowl. Pre-sale tickets go on sale this Tuesday at 10 a.m., and general public tickets on Friday at noon on Ticketmaster."
