Star Wars Theatrical Editions to Hit Blu-Ray?

The Star Wars theatrical versions have been rumored to come to DVD and Blu-ray ever since the special edition atrocities were first released on DVD way back in 2004.

Today is a new day and with the sun rising comes, yet more rumors about the 1977, 1980 and 1983 versions of the classic trilogy in HD for home viewing.

Intrestingly enough, the news comes from director John Landis (An American Werewolf in London, Animal House) and it sounds like we're back in high school again:Empire magazine reports that John Landis said that George Lucas told him that Disney is going to release the OT in it's original form.

All things considered, we've heard these rumors before and have been let down before so take this with a big grain of salt. Personally, I'm tired of everyone beating around the bush. They're classic movies that almost all of the fans want to buy and Disney/Fox would make a ton of money – JUST DO IT!If you're like me and you're sick of seeing that cartoon version of the Max Rebo band (among other horrible changes), check back with Nerdbot.com as I will tell you how to get HD versions of the OT! Yes, you read that right!
