Japanese Star Wars Sand Sculpture - Wow
So...have you ever built a sand castle?
"To celebrate the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, 54-year-old sculptor Katsuhiko Chaen created an impressive homage to the galaxy far, far away with about 160 tons of sand. Standing 3.4 meters tall, 7.4 meters long and 4.2 meters wide, the sculpture was unveiled on October 8th features R2-D2, C-3PO, and our new little buddy BB-8. In the background, there appears to be various starships from the Star Wars universe.
This impressively massive undertaking was constructed in the coastal town of Tottori, Japan and will be on display till December (just in time for a certain movie release), which is impressively long time for something built out of only sand and water. And don’t worry if you can’t make it all the way to Japan in time to see it: should you get there late, Chaen is the producer of Tottori’s breathtakingly beautiful sand museum, which showcases quite a lot of extremely realistic and detailed sculptures. So at least you’d have something cool to look at if you miss out on the Star Wars stuff."
