Yoda Adam's Top 5 - 90's Movies

December 4, 2015

When asked to write about my top 5 favorite movies from the 90's, I thought easy enough. As I began to think about all my favorite movies I started coming up with a list a lot longer than 5. I realized that I would have to eliminate some from my list. The way I chose the movies was by thinking about movies that I could watch over and over again.

5. Fight Club

Do you know about Tyler Durden?
I freaking love this movie. I didn't see this movie twist coming. I remember being on spring break and watching this movie like 10 times. I always thought how cool it would have been to actually be in a fight club. Then I remember that I'm like super fragile, and can't fight for shit. Then I come back to reality. I loved this movie so much that I even read the book, which was actually better than the movie with a completely different ending. Marla Singer the tourist.

4. The Matrix

This movie had just about everything.  Kung fu, guns, and a love story. Watching it for the first time blew me away. In the first 5 minutes when Trinity does that jumping freeze crane kick, and the camera turns 180' degrees with her was nuts. To many awesome scenes. When Neo fights Morpheus. The lobby shootout with the swat team. Neo vs smith. "Guns, lots of guns". The matrix reloaded was a very good sequel in my opinion. I don't feel to strong about the 3rd one. They kinda lost me. I usually just end up watching like the last 20 mins of The Matrix:Revolutions

3. Goldeneye

This movie is definitely in my top 5 James Bond movies. I remember the first time I saw this movie. I was flipping threw the channels and caught this movie about 40 mins in and I was hooked. Luckily for me, back then they replayed the same movies over and over on the same channel or at least back to back. I remember watching this guy( Pearce Brosnan) shoot the bad guys, use a laser watch to get him out of trouble, he even had an exploding pen.I love this movie. The very beginning of this move just kicks off with action. And 10 mins in James Bond jumps off a mountain on a motorcycle, flying after a plane, and using the same plane to escape from the bad guys. Plus this movie had a good plot and the enemy was 006

2. Terminator 2: Judgement Day
Possibly one of my favorite movies of all time, and the best in the series in my opinion. I've heard people say that sequels are never better than the original. Well this movie put that statement to rest. I watched this movie growing up and I still watch it. I think I watched it last month actually. This movie had so many awesome scenes. The mall scene. The river bed scene. The cool one liners... "Hasta Lavista, baby". "Come with me if you want to live". Years later I would find out that pescadero facility where Sarah Connor was held, would also become my holding place

1. Pulp Fiction.
This is probably my favorite Quentin Tarantino movie. I love all his movies Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs, Django, Jackie Brown. But I think that Pulp Fiction might have actually been the first Quentin Tarantino movie I have ever seen, and it's one that I can watch over and over again. I still never got to find out what was in the suit case that flashed the bright gold light. I remember people would say that it was Marselllus Wallace(Ving Rhames) soul, that it was gold. I remember reading somewhere that when Tarantino was asked what was in the suit case, he said he left it up to the viewer to decide. This movie is great. I remember this movie was where I learned what a gimp was.
