Last year at E3, Microsoft had a particularly strong showing. In addition to revealing several titles, backwards compatibility was announced for Xbox One. This was a shock to most considering that the current-generation consoles were not designed for backwards compatibility.
At Gamescom last year, Halo Wars 2 was announced for a 2016 release. Whether or not that date will still stand when E3 happens this year is unclear. However, it is likely that Microsoft will show something on the anticipated title.
ReCore was another mystery title shown last year. At E3 2015, the game was announced with an intriguing CG trailer, but the lack of gameplay made many fans wonder what the final product will look like.
There is also the mystery card that is HoloLens. An impressive stage demo last year showed the vision of the product. However, the lack of information detailing an actual retail release left a lot to the imagination.
This should be an interesting E3 consider that virtual reality will be at the forefront of many competitors, so it will be interesting to see if Microsoft brings out the HoloLens to compete in this new market.
