Nintendo of America just announced on twitter, yesterday, that the new console codenamed “NX” will not be making its premiere debut at E3 this year. Instead, it will be focusing more on the new Legend of Zelda, scheduled to be released at the same time as the NX as well for the Wii U. Both the game and the console have delayed in order to make improvements.
"NX will not make an appearance at the upcoming E3 video game trade show in Los Angeles in June and will be unveiled later this year" reads a press release from the company.
Nintendo is keeping very hush-hush about its plans for the trade show in Los Angeles, stating that further information will be announced as the show approaches.
Can’t say that I’m too surprised that Zelda has been delayed once again for “polishing.” A playable demo of the Wii U version will be available at E3. It will be Nintendo’s only playable demo for the show.
While many fans may be feeling frustrated over the delay, know this, Nintendo has a good record on quality gameplay. With a much anticipated game like LoZ another small delay is nothing, at least when compared to the 15 year wait for Majora’s Mask 3D.
