Fox will be bring forth a new TV show based on the original 1973 movie, The Exorcist (which was based off the original 1971 novel by William Blatty) . This show is going to have a modern twist much like Bates Motel on A&E which is a modern homage to the classic, Psycho.
This show looks promising. It is scheduled to come out sometime this Fall, but no exact date have been announced just yet. We do know it will be a drama based on a parish and a specific family for Season 1.
The Exorcist has a huge fan following and I am sure they will all watch to see if the Fox show will properly honor the original movie. The preview makes you wanting more.
They could not have picked a better actress for this new show. Gena Davis is no stranger to the strange and unusual and of course dealing with the undead. Now she will face demonic possession and you will see evil being dealt with face to face.
I look forward to tuning in this fall to watch this new show. But how long of a show can this be? Once this girl is cured from her possession what will they do next? Will the priest travel to different parishes conducting exorcisms? Will they focus on the family and will she get possessed again? Will they just go to while a new parish with a new priest and family and follow a new story of possession?
Those are my concerns but I guess as I watch it those things will be revealed and I will just have to wait to see what Fox has in store for us.
