After much anticipation on Good Morning America, Disney released a teaser trailer for their next animated to live action movie “Beauty and the Beast.” As a piano version of the iconic score plays, the trailer pans through the Beast’s neglected castle stopping at a portrait of the prince before his transformation. The only character you see is Belle, played by Emma Watson, examining the infamous rose. But you do hear one of the famous castle residents say, “Look it’s a girl!...What if she is the one?”
Why such an early teaser for a film that doesn't come out until next year? With the success of The Jungle Book (it has grossed over $800 million worldwide), Disney wanted to remind fans of their next offering.
Beauty and the Beast comes out in theaters on March 17, 2017. It stars Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as Le Fou, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, Stanley Tucci as Cadenza, Kevin Kline as Maurice, and Audra McDonald as Garderobe.
