Yes, that is a silly title but Duke Nukem 3D is back, baby! Forget about Duke Nukem Forever for a second. Think back to the 90’s. Imagine you are a teenage boy. Duke Nukem 3D was a macho parody of the burgeoning FPS genre. Best of all, it was a really fun game. The multi-player maps were great. The world was interactive. It had strippers. It was full of one-liners. Well… maybe it hasn’t aged well, but Duke Nukem 3D was fun.
And now to celebrate 20 years – wow, are we that old? – we are getting a remastered game that looks great and has some cool features. Checkpoints are replaced with a rewind system. All those cheesy one-liners that were mostly lifted from great movies are being re-recorded by the original voice actor, John St. John. Oh, and a newly minted, awesome flamethrower weapon.
Look for Duke Nukem 3D’s anniversary fun to drop on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 for around $20 on October 11th. I’ll be shooting alien bastards in bathroom stalls all day.
