Masaya Nakamura, Founder of Namco, Dead at 91
Masaya Nakamura, who started the amusement company that would later become Namco, died at 91 in Japan on January 22nd. Namco created such beloved video game properties as Pac-Man, Galaxian, and Tekken. Nakamura started off making games and toys in post-war Japan, later diving straight in to the video game market where history was made with one of the most popular arcade games of all time, Pac-Man. Nakamura will be fondly remembered as a key figure in the history of gaming.
