The NES Classic... Something this good just isn't meant to be around forever. Nintendo announced that it would be discontinuing one of the greatest nostalgia trips ever released to this day. April will be the last month this gem ships out to North America, so if you want to get your hands on one you better start searching now or expect to be paying a HEFTY price for this one from resellers (Editor's Note: Hey. I got mine on launch day! Suckers...).
As well as The NES Classic has been selling, Nintendo never planned for the console to be around for long. According to a Nintendo spokesperson on IGN, "NES Classic Edition wasn't intended to be an ongoing, long-term product. However, due to high demand, we did add extra shipments to our original plans."
One can only hope that Nintendo will use the positive feedback to make another run of The NES Classic or even release a SNES Classic that will no doubt sell out, make Nintendo tons of money, and will also suddenly be discontinued just as the demand is peaking.
