Geoff Johns and Company are making waves...
Arthur Curry aka Aquaman will embark upon a new story line in this week's launch of Underworld (Part 1). The Atlantean police have been replaced by terrorists, organized crime bosses are gaining power, and humans have gained possession of a vast arsenal of deadly under sea weapons. Tensions ride high in Atlantis and a mysterious rebel may hold the power to change it all.
What makes this release something of significance is it will feature new editor Andy Khouri, and a new artist, Stjepan Šejić. As the AV Club reports Khouri recently joined the staff behind the Green Arrow comics and provided some necessary insight as to direction and story telling. He's sure to be a great partner for Aquaman's current writer Dan Abnett. Šejić, who is primarily known for his work on the comics "Witchblade" and "The Darkness" will provide the illustrations that bring the world of Atlantis to life.
It's also worth noting that this issue will also feature a version of Curry that looks very similar to the Jason Momoa Aquaman we will see in theaters this November.
Aquaman #25 is a special edition anniversary issue and will swim its way into comic book shops nationwide on June 21rst.
