The Transformers movies keep going... and going... and, ugh, going...
Bumblebee will be the first Transformer to get a solo effort, set to be released on June 8, 2018. The fears of some fans of another explosion filled, pointless film focusing more on spectacle than story may be alleviated. Somewhat.
Speaking with Collider, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventure said of the solo film:
"So, they’re going to get a very emotional, complex story. A very tight story, in terms of its location, in terms of its storytelling. In fact it reminds me a little bit of The Iron Giant when I did that movie at Warner Bro. It just reminds me a little bit of that, where that it feels contained, but it doesn’t feel small."
Other news includes the fact that the lead human friend to Bumblebee will be female, and the aesthetic will be more G1. Should we expect an 80's retro feel? Will Bumblebee be a classic Camaro or, as he originally was, a Volkswagen? Expect more info from this Travis Knight (ParaNormal, Kubo and the Two Strings) directed feature soon.
