Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has joked numerous times about wanting to run for president. But, is it a joke?
According to CNN and other sources, a committee called Run the Rock 2020 has filed paperwork to make Dwayne Johnson an official presidential candidate in the next election. The committee is apparently one guy in West Virginia and NOT the Rock. But will this move spur him into action? Will he lay the smack down on Washington DC's candy ass?
Probably not, but there is a long history of Hollywood and politics.
Fellow professional wrestling turned actor Jesse Venture was governor of Minnesota. Oh, and lets not forget other TV and movie personalities that won elections, including Mayor Clint Eastwood, Congressman Sonny Bono, President Ronald Reagan, and, yes, President Trump. All of these folks were entertainers with little to no political experience - other than Reagan - who managed to get successfully into politics. And for those of you thinking the Rock might just be a meathead action star, have we all forgotten Governor Schwarzenegger?
No word on if Mic Foley is onboard as VP in an effort to reuinate the Rock and Sock Connection.
Does the Rock have your vote? Let Nerdbot know in the comments!
