9/13/17 Nintendo Direct Recap

Nintendo's Direct finally happened. Going in, we knew Super Mario Odyssey was going to be discussed. However, there were quite a few surprises as well. Here's a quick recap of everything that was covered:

  • Pokemon Ultra Sun & Moon additional areas and features announced such as more customization options and Pokemon forms

  • A new Pokemon-themed New Nintendo 2DS XL which releases November 3

  • Minecraft for the New 3DS and New 2DS was announced and released.

  • Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for the Nintendo Switch was given a release date of December 1 alongside a Xenoblade Chronicles 2-themed Pro Controller

  • New Splatoon 2 stages are available now.

  • Lyn was announced as a playable character for Fire Emblem Warriors which is releasing October 20

  • DLC stages for Snipperclips announced which are releasing November 10. Additionally, a version of the main game bundled with the dlc is launching on the same date.

  • A DOOM port was announced for Switch, and it releases this holiday.

  • Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus was announced, and it is set to release on 2018.

  • A demo is available for Square Enix’s upcoming RPG Project Octopath on the Nintendo Switch.

  • A Super Mario Odyssey Nintendo Switch bundle was announced.
